Mangrove rivulus (Kryptolebias marmoratus) jumping on land.
The mangrove rivulus spends part of its life history out of water like the mosquito fish (Gambusia affinis). Interestingly, the mangrove rivulus seems to launch at an approximately optimal 45 degree angle like the mosquito fish, but does not keep its head oriented in the direction of travel like the zebrafish (Danio rerio).
